ICO: This is like our usual IPO (Initial Public Offer) whereby companies use it to raise money for startup. In the crypto space is called Initial Coin Offer. You have to be very careful here, as the scam rate is very high. Basically ICO is used by companies to raise fund to commence a crypto project. It is nice to key into such project as an earlybird, because the profit is massive. However you must be very careful as you may lose all your investment too

 

IEO: This is a variety of ICO, whereby the sales of the Initial Coin Offer is being handled by a centralize Exchange. It is then called INITIAL EXCHANGE OFFER. It is being expected that any Genuine Centralize exchange will not like to get involved with a project that does not meet minimum requirement standard, before listing any IEO in their platform. However we have seen that most are more profit conscious than protecting the public. Secondly they always prohibit the owners of the project from listing the same token in their competitors exchange platform, limiting the sales of the token. Secondly such Centralize Exchange will subject investors to adhere with their KYC (Know Yours Customers) and AML (Anti Money Laundry). So seeing an IEO is not enough reason to jump into investment on that project.

IDO: This is a variety of ICO that makes use of Decentralize Exchange for the Initial Offer. It is called INITIAL DECENTRALIZE OFFER. Most Investors prefers this as they are not subjected to KYC or AML. The offer is also not restricted to one exchange. However before you invest, there are parameters to use to scrutinize the ICO, if you are satisfied or convince, then you can invest on it.

PARAMETERS TO CHECK BEFORE INVESTING ON ICO/IEO/IDO

1.     Read their Whitepaper thoroughly

2.     Check the distribution of the token, is it evenly distributed. Do the public have up-to 50%

3.     Use the Tokonomics taught earlier to measure the project

4.     What real life challenge are they solving.

5.     What makes them better than what is already existing in the crypto space.

6.     Is the Token infinite or does it have maximum supply
